The international festival finished on July, 25th in San Diego, was as usual generous in awarding outstanding cartoonists, writers, artists in several nominations of various awards. As expected, Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards paid special attention to the cartoonists in the frameworks of Comic Con. The graphic novel Scott Pilgrim vs. the Universe represented by Bryan Lee O'Malley has beaten everyone for the Best Humor trophy. Graphic novelist David Mazzucchelli won the Best Graphic Album–New award for his Asterios Polyp, a story of professor and architect of Greek descent.

“Saw” Horror Films at Comic-Con

One of the Guinness presentations will take place on Friday in the framework of Comic-Con festival in San-Diego. Reuters informs that the famous "Saw" horror movie franchise is going to be listed in the Guiness World Record as the "Most Successful Horror Movie Series”.

Since 2004, six movies were aired every Halloween. The final seventh movie will be featured in 3D this fall. The main hero of every part of the “Saw” is a mysterious killer Jigsaw, who issues awful experiments on the people’s psychic and before killing them reveals all the surprises that subconsciousness hides.

This year sees the 41st annual Comic-Con International event scheduled to take place at San Diego’s Convention Centre. The comic book and fantasy gathering is set to attract hundreds and thousands of die hard comic book fans, as tickets have apparently already sold out.
