At a glittering gathering at Los Angeles, the Screen Actors’ Guild (SAG) Awards were given away on Sunday night. What shone through was the fact that several veterans of the industry were under the limelight at the ceremony. It was not all about the veterans, as some fresh talent too was given their due.

Hollywood actor George Clooney has reportedly contracted the dreaded disease malaria, while on a trip to Africa. The “Ocean’s 11” actor is currently fighting the disease and is showing signs of recovery.

The news of Clooney’s disease was revealed by TV host Piers Morgan, when he tweeted on his Twitter account following an interview with George for his CNN chat show. Piers stated that the 49 year-old actor, “has contracted malaria following recent trip to Sudan. It’s his second bout. Taking medication but feeling rough”.

She got her degree in Animal Science and became the best selling author and consultant to the livestock industry in animal behavior, despite her autism diagnosis which was found out when she was only 2. Claire Danes played the title role and held back tears on the stage.

The Mad Men actress’ blue evening gown made everyone say “AH!” at the red carpet. Having collected lots of enthusiastic reviews about her long beige gown for the previous Emmy, this year she possibly decided to repeat the success and make everyone stunned once again. In the interview to Access Hollywood she told she didn’t care about fashion police and their opinion. She just was wearing her dress, that’s all.

Tonight (Sunday, August 29, 2010) the Primetime Emmy awards aired live on NBC. Programs and Individual Achoevements were awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. 

The 62nd Ceremony was held live in Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The Academy Chairman and CEO john Chaffner took part in the ceremony and Don Mischer was the executive producer of the telecast. Before these 26 Emmy categories were announced tonight, the other 74 Emmy categories and areas were presented at the creative Arts Awards on August, 21 2010 at the same Nokia Theatre.

The pageant preliminary presentation show was held yesterday at 7pm. The candidates were judged in swimsuits, Evening Gowns and Interviews. The judges are the outstanding personalities in different fields of creativity and commercial.
