October is a pretty nice time to praise everything that is aimed to make people scare and please their aesthetic feelings. To give awards to best feature films of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres, The Scream Awards has been created. It started with two main awards for actors only: Scream Queen and Heroic Performance, but quickly gained more awards invented to praise all actors from these three categories.

As Comic-Con, Scream Award regards comic books and films and defines the winners according to nominations in outstanding comic creations and acting.

It is broadcasted on Spike TV and has been branded in the past as the Spike TV Scream Awards. Still, now the ceremony is usually called Scream 2009 or 2009 according to the respective year.

Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California has been hosting the ceremony since 2006. As usual, this year the final results will be known on Tuesday and we are going to follow them immediately. Twilight is again among the nominees for this year. In 2009 it won the Best Fantasy Film award and its stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson both won the award in best acting in the fantasy film.

Last year Star Trek won the prestigious The Ultimate Scream award while its director was also considered to be the best. This year the real monsters of movies will compete and it is really hard to make choice between such strong competitors as Avatar, Inception, Kick-Ass, Alice in Wonderland…and..Oh my God, Twilight again!

We already know several results, though the rest of the winners will be announced tomorrow. We can say that Kristen did the same this year and went back home with the Scream 2010 prize for the Best Fantasy Actress.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won the Best Fantasy Movie and to be honest we did not expect a different winner.

The Oscar winning Avatar was marked in three awards at Scream 2010: 3-D Top 3, Best F/X and James Cameron was called the best director.

Cheerful and funny horror Zombieland won the Best Horror Movie. It is really entertaining and nice to watch; though the zombie topic is one of the most favourite for horror moviemakers, Zombieland makes it in a different way.

The Comic-Con guest Ray Bradbury was called the The 2010 COMIC-CON Icon (honorary).
